The National Truth and Healing Fund

A fund dedicated to empowering Native American communities by fostering truth, reconciliation, and healing through advocacy, engagement, and storytelling.

PURPOSE

As part of an ongoing commitment to disrupt the existing systems of moving and controlling capital, Decolonizing Wealth Project (DWP), is proud to present the National Truth & Healing Fund. The fund is dedicated to addressing the painful legacy of Native American boarding schools by providing funding to support efforts to advance truth, reconciliation, and healing across Indian Country, including:

1) support Native American tribes and Native-led nonprofit organizations to advance advocacy campaigns to establish a federal Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC);

2) support community engagement during the TRC process; and

3) and support narrative change, research and policy efforts, and ongoing movement building to amplify community demands coming out of a TRC process.

In addition, the Fund may support local and regional efforts to advance truth, reconciliation, and healing across Indian Country. Funding decisions will be made by a Community Advisory Committee comprised of Native American leaders, activists, and experts.
