Join Us for Good Relative – Pathways to Repair with Hilary Giovale

We’re thrilled to introduce Good Relative – Pathways to Repair, a new four-part series launching this April led by Liberated Capital member Hilary Giovale.

We recommend joining all four sessions as they build upon each other to create a comprehensive experience. Please only complete this form if you plan to attend. This series complements our previous Good Relative experiences; prior participation in Good Relative is not required for Pathways to Repair.

About the Series

Participants will leave this experience with a deeper connection to their European ancestry, tools for healing colonial wounds, and practical ways to apply this reconnection in their daily lives. Through guided exploration and community dialogue, attendees will develop the personal insight and actionable strategies needed to transform ancestral understanding into meaningful change—creating ripple effects in their families, communities, and philanthropic practices.

Who This Series Is For

This series is specifically designed for Liberated Capital members with European ancestry who identify with their European heritage. While all Liberated Capital members are welcome, the content directly addresses the relationship between European descendants and histories of colonization. The series provides a supportive environment for examining family histories, confronting inherited privileges, and developing meaningful pathways toward repair.

About Hilary

Hilary Giovale is a mother, writer, community organizer, and philanthropist whose life changed profoundly when she began exploring her ancestral history. A ninth-generation American settler with Celtic, Germanic, Nordic, and Indigenous European ancestry, Hilary’s transformative journey began nearly a decade ago when she uncovered her family’s history of colonization and enslavement.

This inquiry now guides Hilary’s work, including her writing, teaching, and reparative philanthropy. She is the author of Becoming a Good Relative: Calling White Settlers toward Truth, Healing, and Repair (Green Writers Press, October 2024).
